What is a Signal Skill?
A Signal Skill is a hero's signature high-impact ability that activates when you tag that hero in under a specific condition β typically while the target is afflicted with a particular status ailment. Think of it as a conditional ultimate that rewards you for setting up the swap rather than mashing the tag button.
Anatomy of a trigger
Every Signal Skill has three parts:
- Condition β the state the enemy must be in (e.g. "target is Stunned", "target is Broken").
- Effect β what happens on a successful trigger (big damage, a buff, a debuff, a heal).
- Follow-up β the status or state the Skill leaves behind, which sets up the next hero.
This is why Signal Skills and the status relay system are two halves of the same mechanic: the follow-up of one hero's Signal is the condition for the next.
How to use them well
- Read each hero's condition. Open a hero's page (e.g. Lute) and note what their Signal requires.
- Order your team to satisfy conditions. Put ailment-appliers before the heroes who consume them.
- Don't waste the window. If the condition isn't met, the tag still works but you lose the free Signal damage.
- Chain the follow-ups. A great team fires a Signal on every swap, creating a rhythm of bursts.
Try itThe Team Builder highlights exactly where in your chain each Signal Skill triggers, and flags broken links where a condition isn't met.
